About File Download Link (API)

Sales Tax Database provides link (API) to automate your downloads. You can automate the process of retrieving dataset by using our link (API). The purpose of this document is to provide a quick reference on how can you download the files by consuming this link (API) over the browser or by writing a script.

The above link (API) of Sales Tax Database is used to automate the process of downloading the file. The link (API) has three parameters with a specific format which we need to set. The format is explained below with an example.

1. File Name:

   i. For All States version

   Our file name format is : apr2021_SalesTax_Commercial_csv.zip

   apr - First three letters are of month you want to download the file apr for April.

   2021 - Year of the updated file

   SalesTax_Commercial - Product you are using. Example - SalesTax_Premium for Professional product and SalesTax_Commercial for Enterprise product.

   csv - File Format

   .zip - append .zip as you will get the file in zip format.

   ii. For Single state version

   Our file name format is : apr2021_SalesTaxEnterprise_CA_csv.zip

   apr - First three letters are of month you want to download the file apr for April.

   2021 - Year of the updated file

   SalesTaxEnterprise - Product you are using. Example - SalesTaxProfessional or SalesTaxEnterprise.

   CA - 2 letter State Abbreviation

   csv - File Format

   .zip - append .zip as you will get the file in zip format.

2. User Name:

   This is your registered email id associated with SalesTaxDatabase.

3. Password:

   Password for SalesTaxDatabase.
